Default Targeting Rules

In-Person Events

Primary radius: 50 miles (high density)
Secondary radius: 100 miles (medium density)
Extended radius: 200 miles (low density)
Centroid: Event venue coordinates

Online Events

Default: Event country (US, UK, etc.)
Expanded: English-speaking countries
Global: All supported regions

Hybrid Events

Combination of both strategies
In-person attendees: Geo-targeted
Online attendees: National

Audience Density Tiers

Tier 1: High Density (0-50mi)

Email frequency: All campaigns
Ad spend: 50% of budget
Audience quality: Highest

Tier 2: Medium Density (50-100mi)

Email frequency: Major campaigns
Ad spend: 30% of budget
Audience quality: High

Tier 3: Extended (100-200mi)

Email frequency: Announcement only
Ad spend: 20% of budget
Audience quality: Moderate

Custom Region Configuration

Override Defaults Settings → Marketing → Custom Regions

Options: • Add specific cities/metro areas • Exclude regions (already saturated) • Set custom radius per event • Target by postal code prefix

Use Cases: • Multi-city tours (different regions per event) • Regional exclusion (competitor events) • Destination events (tourism markets)

For destination retreats, expand targeting beyond the venue location to include travel hubs and urban centers where your audience typically lives.
